FIFA 20: New Faces

Experienced Irish wideman Jonny Hayes (Free) and inexperienced Mexican left back Jesus Gomez $490k RC) joined the club. We needed more options on the left side of the pitch. Back on the pitch, in front of our home fans, we spent ninety minutes peppering Orlando City’s goal (12 shots to 2, 11 on target!) butContinue reading “FIFA 20: New Faces”

Arrivederci Abdoulaye!

After a long association with Les Canaris, midfielder Abdoulaye Toure departed FC Nantes at the end of August. The 27-year-old voyaged to Italian shores, specifically Genoa. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abdoulaye_Touré_(footballer) Toure had gone from being sometime captain, to frozen out altogether by latest coach on the treadmill Antoine Koumbouare. Toure made over 150 appearances in all competitions forContinue reading “Arrivederci Abdoulaye!”

FIFA 20: On a Roll!

North of the border, we outplayed Vancouver only to lose 1-0. We bounced back at home to Colorado courtesy of a late goal from midfielder Jackson Yueill. We then really turned it on with a 3-1 win when hosting Columbus. Top scorer Andres Rios bagged two goals and Magnus Eriksson sandwiched those strikes. The onlyContinue reading “FIFA 20: On a Roll!”

FIFA 20: $8m Man!

We returned to winning ways with a convincing win at home to Houston. We had no problem! Cristian Espinoza netted the opener after excellent work from recalled right-back Paul Marie. Fellow full-back Marcos Lopez later rounded off a superb move to double our lead and seal a 2-0 win against weak opposition. We fell behindContinue reading “FIFA 20: $8m Man!”

FIFA 20: Rios Rich in Form!

Picking up where we left off, we came from behind to draw 1-1 with Chicago Fire. Andres Rios bagged his fifth goal of the season. We then won 3-0 in Toronto, in what was one of our most satisfying performances so far. Siad Haji had already had a couple of great chances to score butContinue reading “FIFA 20: Rios Rich in Form!”

FIFA 20: Signings, Injuries… and some goals!

With Andres Rios and Danny Hoesen struggling in front of goal, we splurged a hefty $8.5m dollars on 25-year-old Syrian striker Omar Kharbin. Sadly, he wouldn’t be able to join us until the transfer window opened. Experienced Austrian winger Christoph Kropfl was also snapped up but for a lot less money! We would later addContinue reading “FIFA 20: Signings, Injuries… and some goals!”

FIFA 20: Do You Know the Way to San Jose?

Having been appointed as Manager of San Jose Earthquakes, I quickly delved into the transfer market. Three players (Bulgarian winger Todor Nedelev, South African defensive midfielder Thato Mokeke and further midfield steel in New Zealander Matthew Ridenton) were snapped up on free transfers. They’d compliment a youthful squad. A couple of players were allowed toContinue reading “FIFA 20: Do You Know the Way to San Jose?”

Who Will Win the English Premier League? The Results

As the table below confirms, a whopping three of you (Actually one vote was mine!) participated in my recent poll! 100% of voters tipped defending champions Manchester City to retain their crown… and obviously cursed them as they went onto lose their opening match! That result, a win for Tottenham Hotspur, probably already makes LiverpoolContinue reading “Who Will Win the English Premier League? The Results”

Shrewd Signings?

Forget Jadon Sancho’s move to Manchester United or rumours abound of Harry Kane joining Manchester City. Here are three slightly under the radar transfers that have occurred this summer… Andros Townsend Crystal Palace to Everton Still only 30 but restricted to a bit part role at defensive-minded Crystal Palace, surely Andros Townsend has something toContinue reading “Shrewd Signings?”
