I went into a charity shop and picked up an Octonauts (My youngest daughter’s current fave!) DVD. The lady, who literally threw some free toys at my daughter, advised that DVDs were three for £1. I added a Mickey Mouse Christmas DVD then looking at the other options, struggled to identify another one worth buying. I hesitantly plumped for Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, expecting it to be full of crass humour. I certainly didn’t expect to find myself laughing out loud and for it to immediately become one of my favourite films!
After about twenty minutes, my daughter wanted to switch to whatever else she was normally watching at the time, possibly the animated version of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (Before The Octonauts obsession fully kicked in!). However, I couldn’t wait to watch the rest of CWACOM, so stayed up late to watch it all by myself!
I really liked some of the dry humour and food related puns. Heck, there’s even some character development if you want me to go all proper film critic on you. It was so good that I’m not sure if I actually want to see the sequel… it might only disappoint!
