After a long association with Les Canaris, midfielder Abdoulaye Toure departed FC Nantes at the end of August. The 27-year-old voyaged to Italian shores, specifically Genoa.
Toure had gone from being sometime captain, to frozen out altogether by latest coach on the treadmill Antoine Koumbouare. Toure made over 150 appearances in all competitions for Nantes and popped up with the occasional goal, in recent times from the penalty spot.
Toure had been at home city Nantes since the age of 12, previously playing for USSA Vertou, which is basically in Nantes (Or right on the edge) but the time has come for a new chapter.
Fingers crossed that he can make a positive contribution and impression for a sleeping giant of Italian football.
