Forget Jadon Sancho’s move to Manchester United or rumours abound of Harry Kane joining Manchester City. Here are three slightly under the radar transfers that have occurred this summer…
Andros Townsend Crystal Palace to Everton
Still only 30 but restricted to a bit part role at defensive-minded Crystal Palace, surely Andros Townsend has something to offer at Everton.
Has he got ninety minutes every week in him, maybe not. Not that Townsend has a history of injuries, it’s just that he’s spent a fair chunk of the past few seasons watching from the bench. Even from the bench, he can definitely make an impact. He’s got the odd wonder goal in him as we’ve even seen in an England shirt!
Pierre Lees-Melou Nice to Norwich City
Norwich City have lost Emmanuel Buendia but still have Todd Cantwell and have signed Billy Gilmour on loan. Adding the experienced Lees-Melou is a canny piece of work though. Yes it’s a step up from Ligue 1 but the 28-year-old will add guile to Norwich City’s midfield.
Joshua King Everton to Watford
If Josh King joining Everton passed you by then you’re probably not alone!
King is a Norway international, has spent time at Manchester United (Of course he was cruelly denied the opportunity to rejoin them) and has proven himself at Premier League level with Bournemouth. Is he the man to fire Everton into Europe?
Have you noticed any shrewd and potentially strong signings go through this summer?
