It’s been a relief to see an increase in newt activity in the pond, both adults and juveniles.
I was getting a little worried given how much activity there was in March last year but I think that the cold weather has kept the newts quiet. With a good run of sun, they’ve started to make their presence felt. There’s been the odd frog too.
Meanwhile in the new second pond, the fish are getting a little bolder though they often dive below when we go near. Usually when you reach the pond all four are there, often together and basking in the sun. The weather has taken a turn for the worse though with rain forecast for much of this week. That will at least help top up the ponds though!
