It’s been a while since I recommended some films to watch. Last time it was space…

This time it’s sport! I’m not sure why it took me so long to think to do this genre but after recently posting how much I was looking forward to the following film…

It got me thinking about sports films, so here it goes…
Field of Dreams (1989)
Man hears voices telling him to build a baseball ground on his farm… so he does!
Million Dollar Arm (2014)
The real life story of an attempt to unearth baseball talent from all the cricketing young men in India.
Foxcatcher (2014)
Steve Carrell and Channing Tatum star in this tragic wrestling themed real life story.
Dr Todd Grande’s analysis of Carrell’s character, John DuPont, is also well worth watching…
Seabiscuit (2004)
He recently tied for first in my poll for your favourite Spider-Man but here Tobey Maguire is interested in four legs not two! Another real life story, this time about a horse.
Kingpin (1996)
Woody Harrelson and Randy Quaid star in a film about an Amish bowling prodigy and the quest for success!
The Mighty Ducks starring Emilio Estevez (One of my favourite actors!) also merits a mention. Soul Surfer (Which I think I watched in a cinema in Auckland) suddenly came to mind too.
I just watched Field of Dreams last week. What a great movie.

Nice. It’s definitely in that small category of films that I’d happily watch multiple times!
