I’ve planted three tomato and three cherry tomato seeds in the hope of being able to make some soup later this year.
In hindsight, I should’ve potted them a few weeks ago ahead of the warm weather that we had. The temperature has since dropped with warnings of further freezes to come. Hopefully they’ll get up and running in the warmth of the summer house. They’re situated up against the front window at a reasonable height so should catch some sun.
I thought that I had some trays but each seed has gone into its own small pot already. Hopefully in a few weeks I’ll be able to put them outside with the cold weather a distant memory.
The sun does hit most of our garden but the logical places for placing tomatoes aren’t necessarily in prime sun spots. They should be okay though. We had a bumper crop a few years ago but weren’t so successful last year. They’re very much my project so I’ll keep pruning them and look forward to the rewards!
